Zak Stowe is an award-winning lighting designer, producer, director, administrator, and educator. His multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary skillset has made him a valued technical advisor and consultant in the Wisconsin theatre community. Zak is based in Madison, Wisconsin and has previously served as Technical Director of State Street Theatre Co, President of StageQ, and Lighting Specialist for Full Compass Systems. Zak currently serves as President of the Bartell Community Theatre Foundation and Lighting Supervisor for the Overture Center for the Arts. In his not-so-free time, Zak tours as a pyrotechnician and photographer for Tora!Tora!Tora! Air Shows.

He wishes to thank his late-father whom he blames for his obsession with lighting, his mother and sisters for their love and support, his partner Josiah for his love and patience with his bizarre sleep schedule, his family of friends who remind him about the value of sleep and fun, and everyone in the Wisconsin theatre community who welcomed, embraced, nurtured, and drank with him.
